Say which lab you are staffing: invasive, echo, vascular, or rhythm. Ask about call, the credential, and how many cases the person has run without help.
A cath lab that copies a national midpoint will lose its call coverage to the hospital across town. Use this metro's median for someone still building a specialty, and the 75th for someone who can take call alone.
License and training
Most states do not license this work directly. Employers usually ask for a credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International, such as RCIS or RCS, or from ARDMS for echo. A few states license imaging or sonography staff, so confirm the rule in your state before you hire or start.

Is a cardiovascular technologist the same as a sonographer?
Not always. Echo technologists are cardiac sonographers. Cath lab and rhythm staff do different work under the same BLS title, so read the posting for the lab.
