How it works

The candidate pool within your radius, measured.

ReqRadius draws a radius around your opening (Reports compare 10, 25, and 50 miles), counts who is licensed to do the job inside it, compares that with local demand and pay, and turns the result into one 0 to 10 index with the drivers and levers spelled out.

Methodology

How the index is scored

Each component is scored 0 to 10 from its evidence, then combined with the published weights below. If an input is blank, that component is re-weighted and the report is labeled a partial index.

30%
25%
18%
16%
11%
Standard 0 to 3.9
Elevated 4 to 6.9
Hard 7 to 10
Confidence label. Every report prints standard, reduced, or low confidence based on data completeness: whether local BLS wage cells are published or fall back to state level, whether your pay and days-open inputs were provided, and data freshness.

How to read the numbers

  • The radius is measured in straight-line miles from your location.
  • BLS wage data is released once a year. Where a local figure is unpublished, the state figure is used.
  • JOLTS is published at national and state level, so it gives trend context for your region.
  • NPPES practice locations are self-reported by providers and refreshed from the monthly file.
  • Counts under 5 are suppressed.

Public data, named and dated

Every report lists each source used and its release date. We cite the agencies as sources; this does not imply their endorsement.
